Come Early Morning, the movie

Jeannie Max Lane sings What's Done is Done, a song written by her husband Jerry Max Lane on the soundtrack of the Ashley Judd movie, Come Early Morning.  The movie pops up on TV occasionally and is available on DVD.

What's Done is Done, is one of 25 great songs on an outstanding soundtrack that includes songs by Merle Haggard, Billy Joe Shaver, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Malcolm Holcombe, Misty Morgan & Jack Blanchard,  Eddy Raven, Don Gibson and Shannon Boshears.

Come Early Morning earned high praise from critics and the Sundance film festival.  It was written and directed by actress Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy and Big Daddy) and filmed it in Little Rock, Arkansas on a shoe string budget.  Roger Ebert said this was Judd's best performance ever.

Both Jeannie Max and Jon Rutherford are seen briefly in the movie and both are in the ad used in newspapers and People magazine.

How Jeannie Lane Became Jeannie Max Lane

Folks who do not know the story think it is extremely rare for a husband and wife to have the same middle name.  Coach Darrell Royall, whose colorful quotes (such as "dance with the one who brung you" ) have enjoyed a life of their own, gets the credit for dubbing Jerry Max Lane's wife and singing partner Jeannie Max.  Willie Nelson quickly picked it up and the name stuck.

Hey, if Darrell Royall and Willie Nelson give you a name, you can't do anything except wear it proudly, right?
